Well Feld and MX Sports MUST be shaking on their boots. I just heard both of them have banded together along with NBC to add a…wait for it…GNC for the SX and MX seasons combined for an additional $10 million in funding. $1.5 million each by MX Sports and Feld the rest from NBC sports…question is, why are they doing it AND why HAVEN’T they been doing it until now?

I had stopped riding and racing before the 4 stroke era. How much different is the riding style between 4 and 2, and does it take you long to acclimate back to a two stroke when you test them? I never shut off the gas when shifting my bikes, I’d just blip the clutch. Can you do that on the 4 strokes?

How come companies like VP, ETS or Renegade don’t offer a non-ethanol fuel @ 91 or 93 octane? Not everybody who rides can afford to pay 25$ a gallon for race fuel and even the weekend warriors who do are kind of wasting their money (unless engine work has been done that requires 100+ octane race fuel. It can be difficult to find decent quality pump gas. Is it completely ridiculous to suggest these companies could make a quality fuel for the average consumer for say 8-10$ a gallon thats at the 91 or 93 octane range?

I run Sunoco GTX 260. It’s 93 octane with no ethanol. Yes it’s $75 for 5 gallons, but it has a 5-year shelf life in the can or in your tank. I have a stock motor. I use it because I don’t ride a lot and my bike sits. Well with traditional fuel, at least here in California, when it sits it can mess up the fuel system. But if it sits with the better fuel, it can sit for 5 years.

That’s interesting… unless your engine is modified there is no need to run anything but pump fuel… they build them to use pump fuel. The problem, as you mentioned, is sitting. another option is av-gas… if you have a local airport, check with them. Not crazy expensive and not filled with ethanol.

Yeah I have a stock motor and have a handful of gas stations near me that offer a pretty good premium pump fuel and i have had good results with it. got 35 hours out of an oem piston and could have ran it longer. Im not in the market to shop for anything but that. I always throw a gallon in my car before filling up my gas can

just kinda curious about that. i feel like they could make a “pump” grade fuel that doesnt contain ethanol and is the same octane rating as what youd find at the local gas station and for half the price less as what they are selling race fuel at
